Crispy & mildly spicy fried bread recipe toased in Indian spicy along with sesame seeds.
  • Bread : 15 slices
  • Oil : 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds (rai) : 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds (jeera) : 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida (hing) : 1/4 tsp
  • Sesame seeds (til): 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder (haldi) : 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder (lal mirch) : 1/4 tsp
  • Salt : 1 tsp
  • Garlic : 1 big clove
  • Green chili : 1 piece
  • Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) : 1/4 tsp
  • Dry mango powder (amchur): 1 tsp
  1. Cut the bread into small pieces and keep aside.
  2. Heat a deep non-stick pan and once the oil is hot add fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chili and garlic.
  3. Cook until the raw flavor of garlic goes off.
  4. Then add sesame seed and cook till the seeds crackle.
  5. Add turmeric powder and red chili powder and mix well all the ingredients.
  6. Add the bread pieces and mix well with oil and cook on low flame till the bread gets crispy.
  7. Finally add salt and dry mango powder and give a quick stir.
  8. Crispy and tasty fried bread (vaghareli bread) snack is ready to serve with hot ginger tea.
