Eggless whole wheat bread recipe - Step by step recipe with tips and tricks to bake perfect brown bread or wheat bread at home.
  • White whole wheat : 2 cups
  • Sugar : 1 tsp
  • Salt : 1/2 tsp to taste
  • Dry yeast : 1 tsp
  • Water : 1 cup
  • Oil : 2 tbsp
Fermentation process
  1. If you are using dry yeast then you have to do this process.
  2. In warm water add dry yeast and sugar and let it rest for about 10 min to ferment
  3. Once the mixture is fermented you can see the bubbles in the mixture. Thus the yeast mixture is ready to use.
To make whole wheat bread
  1. Take the white whole wheat flour on the work area and add salt to the flour and mix well.
  2. Make a well in between and add olive oil or any oil and fermented yeast mixture to the flour.
  3. Mix well all the ingredients to form dough. Dough will be to sticky to kneed so add oil on your palm and knead the dough.
  4. Knead the dough for about 10 min or till it becomes smoother.
  5. Place the dough in bowl and cover it with plastic/cling wrap, let it rest for about 1 hour or till it doubles in size.
  6. Once it is doubled in size knead the dough for a minute and give the shape of bread tin and place it in the mold and again let it rest for about 1 hour or till it fills the bread tin.
  7. Pre-heat the oven for about 10 minutes at 200 degree C.
  8. Place the bread tin in the oven for about 20-25 min at 200 degree C or till the top is golden in color and it leaves the sides of the tin.
  9. Once the bread is done place the bread onto the cooling rack and let it cools down.
  10. Once cool down, cut the slices of the bread.
  11. Healthy whole wheat bread is ready. You can eat the bread fresh or store it in refrigerator for 2-3 days.
